My name is Pilar, I’ve been wanting to appear on the Obesitas website for some time so I can tell people about my case and help them make decisions. Now that I have had about a year of surgery, the clinic has recently taken a picture of me that I can show here, so now is the best time to tell you about my experience.

In my case, I went to Clínica Obésitas because it was recommended to me by two people who already knew the clinic very closely. The truth is that the obesity I had affected me in practically every aspect of my life, I couldn’t walk well, I couldn’t sleep well, I couldn’t breathe and I couldn’t even eat well… I felt very bad. So I decided to make an appointment.

I did a lot of dieting before I had surgery. I started with diets from the age of 30 and the truth is that they worked for me, I lost weight well, but in the end I always ended up recovering it. When I was dieting, I felt very well, but then… I felt terrible, physically and mentally exhausted. I tried all kinds of diets; I remember one time they advertised cold bands on TV with eucalyptus or something like that, and I even tried that… I tried everything to lose weight.

I had also been treated with the intragastric ball in 2007 more or less, and the weight loss was very good, I lost a lot of kilos but as always, over time, I regained everything and rebound effect. It wasn’t the right treatment for me.

So I decided to let myself go on Dr. Ferrer’s advice and finally underwent gastric bypass surgery in August 2012. Now I have lost 46 kilos, I’m not afraid of the “rebound effect” because with this operation, what I feel is that I can’t eat more than my body asks me to. I am very happy with the results I see, I also find that I look different, I feel divine, I feel … stupendous. I would say that I have been born again, I have learned to eat well because before I didn’t know, and the most beautiful thing; now I love myself more than before, before I didn’t want to go out because I felt horrible and now I feel alive, I like it and I like to go out more and go to more places?

I hope I have helped you to take a step forward and encourage you to ask about this type of operations, I strongly advise you. There’s no doubt about it. You don’t have to be afraid, because this type of operations are more afraid than they are, encourage you, than by asking… you don’t lose anything and you will gain a lot.
