Physical preparation after surgery

Physical preparation is very important, both before an obesity operation, to reduce the operative and anaesthetic risk, as well as after the intervention to correctly recover the organism, exercise and physical activity, allow an integral change of the patient's metabolism, and is one of the fundamental tools for a permanent change after an obesity operation, below are the guidelines to follow to introduce this activity gradually and adequately.

Note: There are patients with special limitations who should always consult a specialist. Patients with known cardiopathies or a history of cardiovascular events should always consult a specialist before performing intensive exercise.

  • Walking or light-moderate physical activity, 1h a day.

  • Each time you go for a walk, write down the distance travelled and the duration so that you can try to improve it the next day.

  • Walk, slightly increasing the intensity, 1h a day.

What we want is for the patient to obtain the greatest benefits from exercise, in the shortest possible time. Therefore, they are an alternative for those patients who cannot go to a gym or sports centre.
