Diet after surgery first 6 months

General feeding recommendations for patients operated on during the first 6 months

  • Keep taking the dietary supplement, during the phases indicated and in the manner described in the consultation.
  • Take the vitamin supplements that have been indicated to you, to avoid possible deficiencies and imbalances. Control tests should be carried out during this period.
  • Take them slowly, with small bites, chewing very well and stopping as soon as you reach a feeling of satiety.
  • Remember to drink water or any liquid, outside of meals and prioritize the consumption of isotonic drinks the first 2 weeks.

PROHIBITED FOODS

CARBONATED BEVERAGES (Throughout the period)
ALCOHOL (Throughout the period)
Coffee (first 2-3 weeks)
Exciting (Tea for example) (first 2-3 weeks)
Irritants (Spicy) (first 2-3 weeks)
Chocolates (first 2-3 weeks)

FOODS THAT CAN BE UPSETTING  

Vegetables with stems and hard leaves (Lettuce; Artichoke; Asparagus…)
Dry rices (No broth)
Hard meats (not juicy) or prepared in such a way that they lose water (iron for example)
Very oily foods
Foods cooked with a lot of oil (fried for example)
Whole milk products
Sausages and fatty meats

FOODS THAT CAN GAIN WEIGHT

Sugared soft drinks
Whole milk products
Fried food
Fatty meats
Fatty cheeses
Fatty sauces (Mahonese; Ajoaceite; Caesar…)
