  • Doctor in Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid, 2003. Extraordinary Doctorate Award "Surgery Section", 2003.
  • Experienced in Obesity Surgery and in the management of the morbidly obese patient for more than 20 years.
  • She began at the University Hospital of Getafe (Madrid), with Drs. JC Ruiz de Adana and C. Cerquella, and for the last 10 years her activity has been exclusively dedicated to obesity and esophagus-gastric surgery in the Obesity Surgery Section of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid.
  • Surgeon accredited by the Spanish Society of Obesity (SECO) with the Diploma of Competence in Bariatric Surgery.
  • She has participated as a speaker in many congresses related to Bariatric Surgery, and is co-author of several national and international publications related to obesity.
  • She is co-editor of the recent Vía Clínica de Cirugía de la Obesidad published by the AEC, and of the Fast-track Protocol or multimodal rehabilitation in Bariatric Surgery of the GERM Group (Spanish Multimodal Rehabilitation Group).
  • She has completed her training in Bariatric Surgery in other prestigious centers such as Mayo Clinic, Minnesota-USA (Dr. M. Sarr, 1999) Hospital Clinic de Barcelona (Dr.A. Lacy,2005) and Policlínico Gemelli-Roma (Dr. R. Tachino, 2012).
  • Since 2010 she is Associate Professor in Health Sciences, Department of Surgery, Complutense University of Madrid.
