Diet high in fibber and obesity

The lack of fibber in the diet is a common problem in the diet of today’s increasingly refined and industrialized society. This can lead to intestinal problems such as chronic constipation, haemorrhoids, diverticulitis, and even seems to increase the incidence of colon cancer.

In addition, fibber helps regulate metabolic imbalances, and helps decrease the absorption of cholesterol, unique acid etc, when ingested in the context of dishes made with abundant fibber.

Fibber also helps to achieve a feeling of fullness and reduce the craving for food, with a lower calorie intake. This is fundamental when applying changes in the dietary habits of these obese patients.

In the Mediterranean diet there is a great variety of products of natural origin high in fibre, this, together with the current social awareness that has promoted the commercialisation of foods enriched in fibre, can help us to improve this failure in our diet.

The following is a general description of the recommended foods that should be most present in the diet of a person with these characteristics. Consult with our specialist before carrying out any diet.
